All In A Day

The waiting time was really long. I could have gone home to take a nap, dine, make up before heading back to the show venue. But I chose to stay around.

After napping for half an hour, I decided to head down to town to see if the dress that I had wanted was still available for sale. The chance is slim as the shop owner had only brought it 2 pieces of that outfit. I was right.

While waiting for a friend to join me for dinner, I went to shop around. One of the push cart was selling some interesting anime products. I took my time browsing the items. I could only see the eyes and hair of the person mending the stall. He looked like a punk with blond hair. Still taking my time, the guy suddenly jumped out beside me telling me all about the Christmas Season, about the love and the gifts that everyone is looking forward to.

What surprised me wasn't the fact that he had jumped out. What surprised me was that he's half a head shorter than me (I'm 5 ft 1), and was cos playing in a samurai outfit, a character from the anime 'Bleach'. He looked so cute that I keep thinking what I could purchase from his stall. My friend came along, and she started mentioning about that anime. One could have seen his eyes sparkled as he joined in our conversation, wanting to find out which character was our favorite. The whole time during dinner, I still couldn't get over it. He was just like a cartoon came alive. Really tempted to take his picture. Friend and I were guessing his age. He looked too punk to be still in school. But I didn't want to ask his age in case he is really in late teens and not growing anymore.

Headed back to the event venue. The show was scheduled to start at 915pm. All the performers were ready to do their stuff. We waited, and waited, and waited. The guests 1.30 min speech became a one and half hour speech. We nearly died waiting. A couple of the dancers had other gigs to rush to, and a musician had to catch a plane. Every now and then we were given false alarm as the audience clapped for the speakers. I thought that they should have just arrange for a seminar of speech. At last the show began. Half an hour later, most of the performers were packing and leaving.
I rushed to the train station hopping that I wouldn't be too late for my friends' acapella performance. Busy on a discussion on the phone, I saw a lady standing outside a shop with a couple of people surrounding her. Tissues on her hand pressing against her head, there was blood all over. Immediately, I put down the phone and offered to bring her to the toilet to wash up, after making sure that she was not suffering from and giddiness.

A mid fifties white lady, she told me that she had wanted to head to the toilet but thought of going in to the shop to look at some stuff. She did not realised that there was a glass panel and had walked right in to it.

I didn't really know what to do, having no such encounter before, but thank God, she is a nurse and had some dressing in her room. I grabbed as many tissues as possible for her to press against the wound. Slowly the flow of the blood slowed down. The whole time she was worried about the mess she had made outside the shop, and kept wanting to clean up the floor. I had to reassure her that everything will be taken care of. She told me that she had stopped over in Singapore for 2 days before going to New Zealand to visit her daughter. She thanked me over and over, I left her to her husband when she felt better.

The night ended after a few drinks and watching my friends' performance which they claimed that they were under-rehearsed, even though all sounded great to me.

Interesting day to say the least.

It's a shame they wasted your time like that though.
