Busy Busy Weekend

Had a buzy weekend.

Invited friends to come over for dinner. It was our 1st house party. Simple dinner, meat from Rock Kun, and I made chicken rice, curry vege, and omelet. Chicken rice was not too good, but I think the curry was not too bad. heheh. Kinda proud of myself.

Jude and Cleo brought us beautiful flowers. Love it so much!

The next day we went to the Sexpo at Melnourne Exhibition Center. It was a funny trip cos we bought us some bedsheets. Yup, bedsheets at Sexpo. Lolz. And funny how the stocks weren't designed with sexy pictorials. They are just normal bedsheets with discounts. So here's the picture of our current bed, and hooray for the fact that we can sleep on it at long last.

The bed looks nice doesn't it?

Had the opportunity to watch SuzieQ's performance at the Sexpo. She's awesome. Gorgeous, sexy and friendly. Took her vidz, and also a picture with her personally. heheeh.

Yesterday had a great day.

The morning started with me finding my way to the city. On the way to the bus stop, I saw a granny with a bandage on her right foot, using a roller walker checking out her garbage bin. I walked towards her and wanted to offer her some help. We started chatting and she told me that she's 86 this year, living on her own since her husband died. Told me something about the pension which I didn't understand anything. Then she invited me to her house, wanting to give me some chocolate. I was a bit worried. The thing about stranger and food. But she seemed harmless enough, and how was I to reject an old lady? Argh.. So in to the house I went, anxious about missing the bus. Her house was small and neat and there was a pet parrot. Somehow sensing that I was in a hurry, she told me to make my way after giving me a packet of chocolate buns.

Off to the city I went. Went up the bus and asked the bus driver to tell me when to alight when reaching my stop. We chatted and he told me that the next time I want to go to the city, it will be faster if i were to take the train which is 20 mins walk from my house. Oh well. hehe

Met Remy and Sining and we had lunch together. Sining wanted to go shopping so Remy and I went to a bar at Chapel Street to chill out. Here are some pictures.

I was really glad to see both of them here. Having Sg friends, catching up in Melbourne. Makes me feel that I'm not that far from home. Have somemore friends to catch up with. Will call 'em soon!

Did some pole prac today. Vidz is here.

This Sat I'm going to the Sexpo Exhibation. SuzieQ will be poling there! Hope that I will get to see her performance live!

Furnitures arrival!!

Our furnitures came in this morning at 8am! Whoo-hooo! We started assembling it immediately and boy, was it a long and tough job. We were lucky that Jude and Cleo came over to help us. So here's some pics of the new look. But we still have a mountain of rubbish to clear. It will take us over a month just to clear the cardboards.

Eric in Singapore

After Christmas I fell sick. From fever to sore throat to cough. The doctor's prescription did not help much. I guess if the patient still continue with the unhealthy life style, nothing will really help in the 1st place.

I continued to go for the barbecue, in fever, eat all the spicy and heaty food, without thinking twice. Eric did not stopped me once (so sweet!). His only request was to head home to rest after all the eating. Miraculously, I did not pass my virus to him. Day and night, he would remind me with my medication, and always tuck me into bed.

We had a game of poker, and winner of the round will get to draw on losers hands! The one with the most drawings of cos belongs to my boyfriend! LOL!~~

Me and Stingray~!

New year was spent working. I had to rush for many shows before heading to my company's event. Poor Eric had to run around the whole Singapore with me. We could not reach my event in time before the count down. But we were lucky to be near the fire works. So amidst all the rushing, we still get to enjoy the beautiful sight, in hugs. ^_^

Shopping and meeting friends who wanted to catch up with him. That was how the next few days were spent. Then came an important day for my family. My brother's wedding.

Everyone was so busy in the house, preparing for this event. Manicure was done, hair was set. The dinner went on smoothly with most of my family and relative meeting up with him. He pulled it off excellently, even though he could not remember who was who. But can't blame him though. There were just too many people for him at once.

It was that night we went for supper with a couple of friends. Eric ordered fried oyster egg which gave him diarrhoea . We went to Penang feeling sick.

Over in Penang, we took turn to fall sick, he with his diarrhoea, and me with my sore throat. We were careful with our food, as we did not want to worsen our condition. A few friends brought us around, too bad we could not take part in the food paradise.

Eric and me at the beach in Penang.

On his last day in Singapore, we spent the day with all the close gamer friends. Pigging out again at a restaurant.

It is strange how time can fly so fast when you are having a good time. We could not bear to leave each other but this is the price to pay to be involved in a long distant relationship.

I'm glad that he made did for this trip. It only strengthen my believe that he is the one. During the Penang tip, I told him that I have made up my mind that I will go over to Australia after next year's Chinese New Year to be with him for good. I think I will not regret this decision...

P/S: I found a friend of his whom I think will have brilliant and fun ideas about weddings, and is willing to help us when the time comes. (Heaven for me, Hell for him. But... Who cares?) *Evil laughter*

All In A Day

The waiting time was really long. I could have gone home to take a nap, dine, make up before heading back to the show venue. But I chose to stay around.

After napping for half an hour, I decided to head down to town to see if the dress that I had wanted was still available for sale. The chance is slim as the shop owner had only brought it 2 pieces of that outfit. I was right.

While waiting for a friend to join me for dinner, I went to shop around. One of the push cart was selling some interesting anime products. I took my time browsing the items. I could only see the eyes and hair of the person mending the stall. He looked like a punk with blond hair. Still taking my time, the guy suddenly jumped out beside me telling me all about the Christmas Season, about the love and the gifts that everyone is looking forward to.

What surprised me wasn't the fact that he had jumped out. What surprised me was that he's half a head shorter than me (I'm 5 ft 1), and was cos playing in a samurai outfit, a character from the anime 'Bleach'. He looked so cute that I keep thinking what I could purchase from his stall. My friend came along, and she started mentioning about that anime. One could have seen his eyes sparkled as he joined in our conversation, wanting to find out which character was our favorite. The whole time during dinner, I still couldn't get over it. He was just like a cartoon came alive. Really tempted to take his picture. Friend and I were guessing his age. He looked too punk to be still in school. But I didn't want to ask his age in case he is really in late teens and not growing anymore.

Headed back to the event venue. The show was scheduled to start at 915pm. All the performers were ready to do their stuff. We waited, and waited, and waited. The guests 1.30 min speech became a one and half hour speech. We nearly died waiting. A couple of the dancers had other gigs to rush to, and a musician had to catch a plane. Every now and then we were given false alarm as the audience clapped for the speakers. I thought that they should have just arrange for a seminar of speech. At last the show began. Half an hour later, most of the performers were packing and leaving.
I rushed to the train station hopping that I wouldn't be too late for my friends' acapella performance. Busy on a discussion on the phone, I saw a lady standing outside a shop with a couple of people surrounding her. Tissues on her hand pressing against her head, there was blood all over. Immediately, I put down the phone and offered to bring her to the toilet to wash up, after making sure that she was not suffering from and giddiness.

A mid fifties white lady, she told me that she had wanted to head to the toilet but thought of going in to the shop to look at some stuff. She did not realised that there was a glass panel and had walked right in to it.

I didn't really know what to do, having no such encounter before, but thank God, she is a nurse and had some dressing in her room. I grabbed as many tissues as possible for her to press against the wound. Slowly the flow of the blood slowed down. The whole time she was worried about the mess she had made outside the shop, and kept wanting to clean up the floor. I had to reassure her that everything will be taken care of. She told me that she had stopped over in Singapore for 2 days before going to New Zealand to visit her daughter. She thanked me over and over, I left her to her husband when she felt better.

The night ended after a few drinks and watching my friends' performance which they claimed that they were under-rehearsed, even though all sounded great to me.

My Halloweens

I miss Halloween.

This year I had to give it a miss cos none of my friends bother to dress up..

My 1st Halloween was with my ex-colleagues from MDC. The sporting few all gathered together, dressing up in school uniforms. We watched a Japanese movie, Battle Royal, which describe how a group of students who were kidnapped by their own psychotic school teacher, who wanted them to kill themselves.

The following year we were on another Japanese theme, this time just with simple Jap outfit. But with the make-up and the lightings effect from the club, our team turn out to be the loudest group, and appeared on the newsletter of the club.

For the following years that passed by, these ex-colleagues of mine have all left to a new chapter of their lives. And we stopped our Halloween Party Craze. Maybe next year I will get to have the fun again...

Rainbow Connection

When i first started to step into the entertainment biz, I was unsure about how I well I can adapt to the life. It was considered something adventurous especially since I have no connection to this industry to begin with.

Over these period of time, I grew and learnt a lot of things that I would never have been able to, if I had not been here. The glitz and the glam is all fake. The hard work and the tears are real. But, it is also through this industry that I meet many interesting people and friends. They are: inspired, talented, hardworking, fun, depressed, stylish, queer, extremes (almost everyone have a bit of all these). So different from the people I had mixed with before I was in this industry.

Wynne and his galfriend, Naomi

This is Wynne whom I have known during my days in the Singapore Armed Forces, Music and Drama Company. He was there for the beginning 2 years in my 3 years stay in MDC. I only knew him as one of the musicians who performed at the back of the stage. It was only after I had left MDC, we started contacted each other and hang out.

It began with small group pubbings, and soon I know all the wonderful friends whom he hanged out with. Most of them are either musicians or singers themselves. During that period of time, we will hang out in pubs till the wee hours, drinking, laughing, and having fun in each other's company. Since I was the only dancer in the group, I will usually meet up with the group after my work in the dance clubs at night.

As everyone performed in different clubs on different days, we made it a point to head down to which ever club that one of the gang was performing. From Monday to Saturday nights, we did the same routine for many many months.

Slowly, I learnt that apart from being a very talented keyboard player, he is gifted in his vocals as well. One can never imagine that someone with a deep voice as his, will be able to sing like an angel on stage, drunk or sober. He could be drunk, managing 5 keyboards while singing, and still sound wonderful.

The most favourite song that everyone likes to hear him sing is 'Rainbow Connection.' Using his voice, he is able to sing the 1st part of the song sounding like 'Kermit the Frog', then end it with his own voice. It sounded as though there are 2 identities singing that 1 number. It was beautiful. It always touched my heart. I remembered once when another singer was asked to join him on the stage doing this number, they added 2 more characters into the song, 'Miss Piggy' and 'Count, the Dracula'. It left such a great impression to everyone who had heard that version. Apart from the heavenly feeling, it brought back the childhood memories of 'Sesame Street' and 'Muppets'.

The last time I met Wynne was 2 weeks ago. I was invited to his mini farewell gathering. He had decided to move over to England for 2 years with his galfriend before settling back in Singapore. Everyone will miss him here, and I hope that he will be able to achieve his goals and dreams there.

One day, I will be able to hear that song again.

The Wedding after 10 years of Courtship

As promised, here are the pictures taken on the day of my colleague's wedding. They got married and solomised on 10/10/2006 after 10 years of courtship. Impressive!

The Sisters at the Bride's house.

The Brothers, the Sisters, and the Stars of the day: The Bride and the Bride Groom!

The little flower girls, and the old maids.. >.<"
I feel old!!! ARGH...

Walking in the Ballroom.
With all the bubbles blown on to my direction, I have to advoid it lending on my face, tactically, while looking gorgeous. Didn't do too bad a job. kekkeke.

The gang who helped made the wedding fun and entertaining.
Over here, we have the hosts, the singers, the dancers, the sisters, the brothers, the coordinaters, the runners, and of cos, the Bride and the Bridegroom.

Me, striking a pose in the grown.

Me, after toying with the effects to make the picture look more interesting ( and hidding my flaws of cos).

Last Week

Past few weeks had been busy with work, as usual. Managed to find some time out to meet up with a close friend who will be going away for 2 years in London. I will definitely miss his voice. He has the most angelic voice I have ever heard, and in the past, when the gang still hangs out together, we will always support him in which ever club he performs. No matter how drunk he gets, he never fail to mesmerize his audience with his talent, especially when he sings the all time favorite, "Rainbow Connection."

Last week after my colleague's wedding, I suddenly have doubts whether or not I should hold one in the future. It was really no fun at all... There was so much preparation to be done. I felt that I was like a superwoman that day.

I was the

  • bride's maid for the couple,
  • the 'auntie' who help with the tea ceremony,
  • the events coordinator for the dinner programme run down, which includes the sound, lighting, rehearsal, miscellaneous logistic,
  • PR manager for the clients who turned up,
  • bride's maid walking down the aisle,
  • the person to get every table ready for table photography shoot.
The couple were happy, the bride cried during the special item that we had prepared for them as a gift. But I was totally flat at the end of it...

Waiting for the pictures to be developed so that I can post some here. ^.^

Finally, my BF and I have managed to compromise on how we can bring this relationship to the next step. After much thought, we both agreed that I shall stay with him in Australia for a month after my brother's wedding in the coming Jan. Subsequently, I will be going over to Australia more often to get use to the life there, look out for the industry that I will be interested to start off with, as well as checking out what I can do over there for my company to expand.

Even though my BF prefers to get married in the shortest possible time, he is still giving me enough support for the decision that I choose.

Mid Autumn Festival

Last week, I was invited to join a group of my friends in the performing scene to have a stroll at the Chinese Garden. This is one of the very rare times where I get to go out with these people on a day where we do not have a performance.

It was unbelievable that we took 2 1/2 hrs in the garden that night. Though the decorations weren't as fascinating as before, it was still a beautiful sight. There were different buildings from all over the world decorated in lights. There was the Taj Palace, Pyramid, Eiffel Tower, Chichén Itzá, Leaning Tower of Pisa, and many more. We acted like tourists taking pictures everywhere.

Towards the end of the stroll, one of my friend suggested that we climb the tower which over looks the garden, claiming that it would be a beautiful sight. Reluctantly, we joined her, and by the time we reached the 7th floor, all of us were so out of breathe. But she was right. It was a beautiful sight indeed.

I got myself a drawing for my chinese name. It looks amazing. The artiste was able to draw characters using birds, butterflies, mountains, trees, and many other creatures, to form the characters. I will post the picture up once I receive it.

Overall, I enjoyed myself and had fun that night. We decided that we shall have another gathering soon. This time for a BBQ session. Looking forward to it. *wink*

Anger Management

A few days ago, during supper, my friend, SB, mentioned about his working life. He was being taken for granted in work. As he is the only store assistant in the lan shop apart from his boss, he has to take care of every little things.

The lan shop fails to capture the costumers heart as its charges for the use of its computers are ridiculously high. SB puts in extra effort to be friendly with the costumers so that they will enjoy the environment. Having passion in the cyber world, he will always try to think of new ideas and games that will attract costumers to the shop. His boss, however, does not agree to console games nor spending money to invest in popular games, making the choices of the games in the shop very limited.

Recently business has been bad. This was due to the examination period around the corner. SB was always questioned as to why there were so little customers. As the days pass, his boss became more demanding about the poor business. He went to the extend where he always pick on Swift for the little mistakes that he made. Things like calling the boss to inform about the sales when he was told to send a message on the mobile phone.

That night during the supper, SB was reprimanded for forgetting to write down how many canned drinks were sold. The boss demanded an explanation, claiming that he would deduct his salary for any mistake that he makes in the future.

I spent the whole night trying to calm down SB's anger, telling him that under the employment law in Singapore, the boss can only make the employee compensate for the money difference in accounting, but not deduct the salary. I helped SB replying the many messages that the boss sent to his mobile phone, making the whole situation less tensed.

After one whole night of "friendly" debating with the boss, the next day, the boss only reprimanded him for the minor negligence.

Personally, I feel that the boss wanted to make SB resign, having lost so much money due to the poor sales. SB would have ask to leave too, if he does not have a bond with the company. I told SB that he should never be the one initiating to quit the job. Otherwise, he will have to pay for the bond.

I know that if I'm at SB's position, little horns will appear on my head. I will try ways and means to make the boss sack me, so that the boss will be the one compensating instead. And on top of that, I'll make sure that there will be no more costumers left once I'm out of there.

Yes, I'm a meany with offended.

BBQ session with my friends

ITs been a while since i last saw these group of friends. for many months in the past, we were at a training center leraning many things together. perhaps in the past, i didnt think much abt getting to know them other then learning what i needed to. and after i decided that i my learning was enough, i left the center. i was only in contact with a few of them. and i was glad that i was invited to this outting.

sometimes ppl are too busy in their work tat they do not slow down to take a breather. i am guilty of being one of them. i should learn to take time out to see what has been going on in others' lives, be it my family or my friends.

PS: im getting hungry thinking of the BBQ stingray and chicken wings that i had that day. Mmmm...

The Hurt

We used to do everything together. We used to be inseparable.
The turning point of this relationship started when you couldn't understand my work nature. I was pursuing my dreams. You were still schooling. Complaining is human nature, even if it is something you love. But you didn't want to hear more.
You started dating, I couldn't find the right one to settle with. The boys weren't right, and its seemed like I was in one relationship after another while you went on to marriage.
You started working. You complained that work is a chore. I couldn't agree more, but I was doing something I have passion in, and by then, you are no longer the person I seek for when i needed a listening ear.
You claimed that marriage was boring, I didn't want to comment. You had chosen to get in to one at an early age.
I found the right man in my life, after a long time. I was happy, but I had 2nd thoughts about sharing this happiness with you. We met up, and you asked. You didn't want to hear more as it was a virtual relationship. You didn't believe, you think I was living in fantasy, and you didn't give your blessings.
You treated me for dinner. As usual, I try not to speak at all when I dun need to. I passed you the wine for maternity and hope I can make it to the hospital when the child is born. You claimed that I wasn't there the last time, so this time round I dun need to take time out. I couldn't explain I had to work then. What's the need of doing so after such words were put across to me? You even said that you hope that I wouldn't call you to the hospital when I'm about to give birth next time. For your information, I won't. We won't be in the same country anyway.
I told you my plans about settling with my boyfriend, out of courtesy. The one that had started from virtual. You told me that I can approach you when I need to settle my wedding stuff in Singapore. But why will I come to you now? For God's sake, I own an events company...
We have already moved on years ago. We believe in different things now, and our interests are heaven and earth apart.
You sent me a message, wishing me Happy Birthday. In the message you claimed that you have many things to tell me, that many things had happened. You haven't been listening for years, why do you need me now to listen to you now?
You said you felt that I hadn't heeled your advises in the past. For you information, those advises were telling me to give up my dreams, and settle for someone whom you thought I should. I had only wished for an avenue to blurt my frustrations, just like how most females deal their problems. Not someone telling me that I have been doing something wrong my life, someone who puts me down.
The message that you sent me gives me a lot of mixed feelings. But mostly, I feel hurt. I don't really know how to reply. But to sound polite, I thank you for taking the time to text me the message. But I'm turly sorry, it is impossible that we will ever be close again.

The KL Trip

i had wanted to make it into a working trip. was planning to meet up with some potential partners in KL, but due to the short time frame given for informing, we couldnt arrange for the meeting.

i had a delicious meal in this trip. the shark fin noodle. not too sure if the shark fin is real, it was dirt cheap if im given the real stuff. met up with many online gamers after a session of the game. should say that we have only one thg to bond us together. the game. the whole night's topic was all abt the game, and nothing else. i wasnt quite listening to wat they were saying. was more concern abt keeping myself cool. it was a rather hot and humid night. >_<

on the way back at the toilet stop, i bumped into one of the event ppl. wat a small world

Passer Bys

i was having a conversation with a frd the other day. the subject that we talked abt was sec sch life, abt sch frds, abt teachers. he mentioned tat he bumped in to one of the teacher who was very unpopular in our sch one day when he went out for dinner. i asked if he called out to him. and he replied that there is no need to, cos there are many ppl who are passer bys in our lives.

it strike me that there are indeed many passer bys in everyone's life. there are those whom u know tat u do not want to be accosiated with, there are those whom u thought are ur close frds, but it was only dunring the time frame that u get to be together. i realised that even how hard u try to make the frdship last, it will nv happen in the way that u wanted it...

thinking back, there are many passer bys whom i didnt care abt, whom i hope that there will be a chance to meet up again. the feelings will nv be the same though...

the boy fr sec sch

at last i finally got the courage to ask him.

we had like each other when we were in sec school. we were nv an item, but frds fr sch have always talk abt us as one. even till recent, they still do.

he is one of those ppl i dare not inform when im attached. i dun know why too. we just dun talk abt these thgs when we hang out. i always feel that i will get special attention fr him when we go out. be it with other frds, or just the 2 of us. but there is always a dist between us.

recently we went out with some frds. staying in the same neighbourhood, we end up heading home together. we talked abt our current love life. somethg that we dun really talk abt often to each other. out of no where, i asked him why is it that we nv get together, was it me or him. then he replied saying that guess we were too young to handle this type of situation appropriately. i didnt prob futher so as not to make ourselves feel akward. maybe he is right. sometimes we just meet the right person at the worng time.

now im very much attached to my bf, and i do foresee a future of happiness with him. and as a frd, i hope tat he will find his own happiness in the relationship that he is in.

how to make the right decision?

a frd sms me last night. in the msg, he told me that he met up with one of his dad's frd and have a hearty talk abt biz. in the mist of the conversation he mentioned to my frd of an interview with a ceo who gave a single answer to every qn he was asked.
1. wat contributes to ur success? --experience
2. wat is experience? -- making the right decision
3. how do u make the right decision? -- make the wrong decision!

my frd went on telling that it takes several falls before one can get the right ans. he thinks of me as a person who has fallen many times, despite my efforts. but he knows that i m on the right track and not else where. he continues saying that the right choice awaits for me, and even if i dun believe tat it will eventually arrive, i will have him believing in me.

i hope tat he doesnt mind me sharing it here. there were many many times when i feel so tired that i wanted to give up. life is getting more and more complicated. i become very reatless. cant think of anythg to do except thinking abt usless stuff.

im glad when i decided to share my worries with this frd. sorry too, that i have to bore him with the worries in my life. i m now giving myself some more time to see if thgs will work out. let's pray and hope for a miracle.

Friends

in life, we get to meet many ppl whom we will call friends. some are temporarily and some will stay with u for ur whole life. its sad though, when u thought that u have made a life long frd, and yet, they turn out to be just passer-by for a period of time in ur life time. very often, i think a lot abt this issue.

i used to have a frd whom i call my best frd. we have known each other for ages. there were thgs abt her that i envy, and vis versa. however, we were inseperatable for a long time. it was until i decided to go into the entertainment biz. she didnt think tat it was a wise choice as entertainment biz is so called complicated. we started to grow apart due to my busy schedule. once in a while i will try to meet up with her. until, i realised tat she has become too insupportive. maybe i was too sensitive over it. but gradually, i stopped talking to her abt my work. and since tat phrase of my life is all abt work, i hardly tok at all when we meet. time passed, and she has a family. i was still single, and worst still, a workaholic. the topics that we can talk abt become very superficial. i couldnt relate to topics abt family, parents-in-law, babies. soon, we dun even meet up... a few months back, she invited me to tea with some common frds. as usual, i just ask abt their life, keeping quiet abt mine. only when they asked, then i introduce my company to them. hoping that they can also help me by recommanding my company to other ppl should they meet ppl who need my service. i was taken aback when she told me, somethg along that line, 'aiya, i dun need ur card la. give me also no use. there is no one to intro to." it was not as if i purposely wanted her to do the work of introduction to me. i merely told her that should her frds require my service, pls help me by recommanding. haiz.. ever since then, i nv seen her again. it is so hard to maintain this frdship... i dun even know if it is even counted as one. there were so many times that she has put me down. i know that if i treat her the same way, our frdship will end. but is there a point to keep a frd who is simply insensitive abt ur feelings, who was once, ur best frd...

yet, i know of some frds, who will stand by ur side to help or give u support when u need it. im lucky that i do have some frds like tat. and on my part, i hope tat i have nv taken advantage of them unknowingly. these are the frds tat i truly love and appreciate. altough time does not allow us to meet freqently, we share a tight bonding within this frdship. and i really want to thank all those who have been there for me all these while.
